The word Stradivarius has even become a term for excellence.
Most of this wasn't the family's work as a whole, but Antonio Stradivari's. He was born in 1644 in Italy. Some of his skills were passed on through his progeny, but not to the same degree.
It is not known exactly what processes were used or what made these instruments so great. Many theories exist about this and a few experiments have been done. A few theories focus on what the violins were made of. There was a "little iceage" in Europe around this time that made trees grow with higher density wood. The higher density in violins was said to give it a superior quality. The other common theory, also relating to a higher density, was that the wood came from maple trees in northern Croatia.
As far as the processes that are rumored to make these violins so great are concerned, it was found that certain chemicals used to treat the wood resulted in a higher quality sound. These chemicals were suspected to be oxidizing agents. Whether these wood treatments were for the purposes of sound or to stave off worms that liked to eat through the wood is a question still up for grabs. The exact chemicals used are not yet known. This is not due to the lack of science, but due to the lack of samples to analyze.
Antonio Stradivari produced approximately 1,200 violins during the course of his life. Only about 600 remain today. Each violin is worth a huge amount, up to $5 million a piece, but estimates vary. In October 2010 one was sold for a record $3.6 million. This was the Molitor, created in 1697 and supposedly owned by Napoleon Bonaparte. Between the years 1700 and 1720 were known as Stradivari's "golden period" and may sell for more in good condition.
Is the sound quality really that good? Their quality and worth has become more controversial over time. Blind tests have been done in which listeners were requested to guess which violin was the Stradivarius, by sound, out of a lineup. In one test there were four violins, the Stradivarius included, all from various makers and time periods. None could correctly guess more than two correctly. Two even believed that the violin of the group that was made in the 1900's was the Stradivarius.
Another test was done in 2009 where a Stradivarius violin was pitted against four of Ronheimer's more modern violins. The majority of the listeners mistook one of Ronheimer's violins as the Stradivarius.
So does this mean that the quality of the widely-loved Stradivarius violins is a fluke or that Antonio Stradivari didn't create excellent violins? I wouldn't go that far, but the quality may have been exaggerated. The rumors of quality may have been started due to his location or connections. It is also possible that many of the violins have lost some sound quality due to years of wear and tear. Until more studies are done, it is up to the best guess of the listener.

The service that you can provide as a music studio is invaluable. In most cities, there is a shortage of music teachers. Teachers who do have established studios often have long waiting lists.

Getting the Right Band for Your Event

Music is critical to any good party. Having a live band at your party can give it a whole new atmosphere. If you decide to hire a band there is a process you should go through. It takes time to select the right band for any function and you should do some groundwork before rushing out and hiring your little brother's garage band to play your Christmas party.
Firstly when is your event? Most decent bands book out at least a month in advance. You should try to plan the band one to three months ahead. As soon as you select a date and a venue the band should be the next thing on your list.
The second thing you should confirm is the venue allows live music. Some venues have noise limitations. If located in a residential area many venues are required to keep the music to a minimum on week nights or shut down by a certain time. Also check the space where a band would play. How many musicians are able to comfortably perform? Does the venue have a sound system? You should know the restrictions before sourcing a band.
Thirdly decide on the type of party you want. If the event is a black tie sit down dinner a thrash metal band may not fit the mood. The band and the music should be complimentary. Ask friends if they know any good bands or if they used a band at their parties or wedding. Check the paper and the internet. Most bands will advertise.
If you find a band ask to come see them play. Most bands will either organize to play a short set for you or they will arrange for you to see them perform at another event. You should know what you are getting for your money. Take note of the music they play and there interaction with the crowd. Did they play to right music to keep the crowd entertained?
Talk to the band. Tell them what you want. Make a list of the songs you like and compare it with their playlist. Ask them if they know your favorite songs. If there is a special song you want for the event ask them to save it to a special moment. Find out if they will provide the music for break times. If you require the band to dress a certain way be sure to ask them if this is ok. You want the band to add to the atmosphere. If the event is formal ask if the band will wear suits. Be sure to ask as many questions as possible before you decide.
Lastly, make up a contract. This may sound like over kill but if you want to ensure everything runs smoothly it is a good idea to have the details in writing. Agree on a time the band will arrive. Make sure you include time to set up before the guests arrive. You do not want the band doing sound check while your guests stand around waiting for the party to start. Include the dates, venue, price, number of musicians, transport, how many hours the band will play, how many breaks and the duration of breaks, equipment, clothing, food and drinks.

Almost everybody today knows the popular song 'Scarborough Fair' recorded by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, especially in the famous 'Canticle' version. But what about the story behind this song and how did all the particular elements that make up this famous version materialize?
Well, only few people know that the actual tune of 'Scarborough Fair' as we know it today dates back to the 16th or 17th century. And so do the lyrics. Even though the actual 'date of birth' and the original author are unfortunately completely unknown, one knows that it stems from England and there actually is and was a town called 'Scarborough.'
Merchants, traders, and business people from all over England used to meet there for a trade fair. It took place every year at the same time - on August 15th and lasted for 45 days. And this fair actually was called 'Scarborough Fair'.
It is uncertain, if the actual tune and verses were an independent creation, since the traditional verses show a big similarity to the ancient Scottish folk-ballad 'The Elfin Knight.'
One thing is but for sure - the song 'Scarborough Fair' literally has gone quite a distance. After it was handed down from town to town over many years, it has undergone quite some changes and gained so many verses that they meanwhile count umpteen.
Nevertheless, only very few of them really caught on and became famous. The most popular verse would be:

Though the lyrics originally concern a man who has lost a true love of his, the song oftentimes is sung as a duet consisting of a man and a woman, in which they both sing the above mentioned verse altering 'he' and 'she' in the last line, but otherwise separately sing the remaining verses.
The song especially became world-famous through the version by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel recorded in 1966. Interestingly, the very beautiful and famous picking pattern used by Paul Simon was taught him in 1965 in London by Martin Carthy.
Another very special quality or characteristic with Simon & Garfunkel's version is the so-called 'Canticle' part (their version is actually called 'Scarborough Fair/Canticle'). Instanzia's style of progressive/melodic metal can be described as a fine mixture of finely refined epic proportions blended in with progressive influences to give an interesting character and charm to their music.
Singer Alexis Woodbury sings from his soul, with so much conviction and emotion, you can't help but feel his pain. Yes, this is for real, people, this is not your average run-of-the-mill heavy metal group.
Woodbury's solid harmonies and superb arrangements let the music breathe here as it does not sound so overbearing and achieves a tasteful balance among all eight tracks found on their debut CD, "Ghosts".
There is something about his vocals, which gives Instanzia's music so much depth and feeling you can immerse your ears into. Moreover, for those of you into heaviness, this album has tons of heavy guitar rhythms and double bass passages that'll make your head bang out of control. Now, if you prefer melodic riffs and articulately structured lead runs, you're in for one hell of a treat here. Their solos are breathtaking to a certain degree (nothing like virtuoso guitarists Yngwie Malmsteen or Paul Gilbert), and will definitely throw your auditory senses in for a cool tailspin. This is something your ear drums will dance and beat to, so prepare to experience some of the best progressive and melodic metal to come from Canadian shores in a long while.
In addition, to their unique musicianship and interesting song arrangements, their album art, of course, ridden with "Ghosts" will send chills down your spine as well. With almost one hours worth of music on this disc, you're not going to be disappointed especially if you love groups like Dream Theater, Savatage, Iced Earth, Firewind, Judas Priest, and even early Metallica too.
Personally, I was very impressed with this young band's first studio outing, and the future only seems very, very promising for this Canadian heavy, progressive metal foursome.
Here are the eight songs featured on this CD: "Omen", "Ghosts Of The Past", "Power Of The Mind", "Charmin Deceiver", "Heaven Hell", "A Genius Who Believes", "The Key" and "The Desert Fox."
My favorite of all eight numbers featured here is "A Genius Who Believes" with its head banging rhythms intertwined with majestic synthesizer episodes and vocals that'll take you back to your dark past - yes this song is eerie but it is one of the stand out tracks here. "Ghosts" is an excellent release and should not be passed up as it will rock your world.

Best Tinie Tempah Lyrics

Since his stunning breakthrough single 'Pass Out' UK Rap star Tinie Tempah has been dominating the headlines and airwaves. Over the past few weeks I have been listening to his debut album 'Disc-Overy' in an attempt to find out more about the man behind the music, what he stands for, the messages he conveys and what are the best Tinie Tempah lyrics.
So let's start with 'Pass Out' obvious to say the track isn't really about much, "20 light bulbs around my table and my dresser ClC Kompressor, just in case that don't impress her" it's fairly light hearted and meaningless, but the track is a straight up dancefloor 'banger' and more about the vibe, delivery and production. The same can be said for his follow up single 'Frisky' which largely followed the same formula with a drum 'n' bass section at the end.
Tinie's 3rd single "Written In The Stars" (feat Erc Turner) revealed a different side to the rapper, he speaks from the heart about his personal struggles and strife whilst chasing a dream. "I needed a break for a sec I even gave up believing and praying I even done illegal stuff and was leaded astray they say money is the root to the evilest ways but have you ever been so hungry that it keeps you awake" His usual tight and rhythmic flow shines through but the fact that this track actually has some meaning and is delivered with real conviction made it stand out for me
Another track with a great concept is 'Snap' - it begins with "the ones we love, the ones we've lost, there's some we frame and there's some we crop" Tinie talks about memories of his father reminisces about his experiences at school. The concept is great and the track could have been one of the strongest on the album, but it feels as though he held back from really drawing the listener in and telling people about his past. You get the feeling that if the Eminem's or Ghostface Killah's of this world would have made this track, the content and thought behind it would have been a lot stronger.
All in all, although there are many great tracks on 'Disc-Overy' I do not feel that the album really reveals anything about Tinie Tempah that we don't already know. The album is more of a collection of singles and less about the content, which makes sense as it is his debut album and the aim was obviously to have a handful of radio ready tracks to assault the charts with, which he did of course succeeded in doing. The guy is technically a great rapper with a very unique delivery, I just hope with his follow up album there is more depth and personality in there and lyrics that people relate to. Balancing between appealing to the mainstream and incorporating real substance into tracks is a tall order for any artist, and few manage to achieve it fully.

History of the World Famous Fender Guitar

Leo Fender a Southern Californian inventor, improved on the hollow body guitar that was around back in the 1940s by using an innovative and very simple solid-body electric guitar design. This also enabled him to mass-produce the instrument for a more streamline production line.
The Fender Telecaster:
In 1951 the Telecaster was born, the first solid-body mass-produced guitar.
Precision Bass Guitar:
In the same year he invented the revolutionary Precision bass guitar.
A bass guitar with frets, a very new concept and having frets meant it could be play with 'Precision' and it could be amplified which liberated bassists from the guess and play hard to hear bass guitars of the day. This really was a milestone in the history of guitars.
The World Famous Stratocaster Guitar:
Then back in 1954 Leo invented a user-friendlier model. The world famous Stratocaster guitar. A guitar that this time had three pick-ups a sleek contoured body, which made the instrument more comfortable to play. He also added a double cutaway to the design of the guitar, so the guitarist could access the upper registers of the instrument.
Leo still felt there was something missing for his new Stratocaster design. The country bands liked the pedal steel guitars, so Leo decided to add a tremolo arm to enable the musician to bend the strings and achieve a pedal steel type sound that was so popular among the country and western folks.
Sale to CBS:
Due to poor health Leo Fender sold the company to CBS in 1965. The Columbia Broadcasting System, bought out Fender for a cool $13 million, almost two million more then they paid for the New York Yankees a year before. After selling the Fender company, Leo Fender founded Music Man in 1975, and later founded the G&L Musical Instruments company, which manufactures electric guitars and basses based on his later designs.
The sale unfortunately led to a reduction in the quality of Fender's guitars due to "cost-cutting" from the CBS management team. Several cosmetic changes occurred after 1965/1966, such as a larger headstock shape on certain guitars. A bolder black headstock logo, as well as a brushed aluminium face plate with blue or red labels depending the model of the guitar. Bound necks with block shaped position markers were introduced in 1966.
