Electric Slide Music

Basically, the electric slide music must be light on the foot, relaxing but not too slow, and happy in general. The electric dance isn't much done with very fast steps. Therefore, your electric slide music must be chosen in a way that it goes with the step and counting.
Although a lot of people have danced the electric with different music, there are generally 3 genres that would typically function as great electric slide music during group performance and social gatherings.
The famous example of an electric slide music is Marcia Griffith's Electric Boogie, which is reggae in nature with a bit of a pop twist to it. Although reggae has been discovered quite a long time already, a lot of music artists still love the relaxing sound of this popular genre. Bob Marley is the world's most famous reggae artist and if you've heard most of his songs then I bet you have a good idea of what reggae sounds like. Reggae is perfect for the basic electric dance steps and variations because the beat and rhythm are played in a way that it won't go too fast or too slow. It's also fun and happy to hear. Electric Boogie is one of the most famous songs accompanying electric slide.
If you prefer something more modern, you may want to go for a funky style of music. It's a bit louder than reggae and may be a bit faster as well but some funky songs will still be an appropriate electric dance accompaniment. Funk is an African-inspired type of music and includes complex grooves that give you this feeling of wanting to dance longer. Funk is nice for group dancing, pairs or even mass dancing. This is another reason why it's perfect for your electric dance moves.
Cameo's Candy is a famous electric song in the UK. The beating is somewhat similar to reggae, except for some variations and robotic rhythms. However, the music tempo and speed are almost just as fast as most reggae songs so it would be good for any electric dance steps.
Pop and RnB are the next best choices for electric dance but focus on the ones with happy beats. As you probably now, not all pop or rnb songs are considered happy. Many of them are sentimental and it would be funny to use it as you do the electric slide. It's comical! In all honesty, you are not necessarily limited to these four genres if you're looking for good electric songs. What's important is that it matches your dance steps and it maintains a happy beat. So when you choose your songs, choose wisely! Be happy!

Wedding Bands - 5 Tips You Must Follow

Music is one of the most important wedding party decisions you will make. Music can make or break a wedding reception. A lot of thought should be paid to choosing your wedding band. It is not something to be rushed. Your wedding will be your most happy day. You want your family and friends to enjoy the day as well, so care should be taken to ensure the band you select is the right match for the wedding you are planning. Here are my tips for picking the perfect band for your wedding:
  1. Cultural or Religious Requirements - Do you or your partner have any cultural or religious needs regarding the wedding party or ceremony? Are you having a ceremony which reflects your cultural background? The band should play music which matches this. A traditional Hindu wedding should have Hindi music.
  2. Theme- Think about the style of wedding you want. Do you have a theme? If there is a medieval theme or a 60s theme then the music should match. If you want a formal wedding then a rock cover band will not be a good fit. Do you want people to dance? If you imagined a square dance then ensure you source a band who knows how to call one.
  3. Venue - Some venues may not be equipped with the appropriate sound system or space to accommodate every band. When you decide on a venue you need to assess which options are available. Some venues may also be subject to licensing and noise restrictions. There would be no point hiring a live band to play at a venue which cannot have live music at night.
  4. Taste - The music you choose should reflect your personal taste and set the atmosphere. It should say who you are as a couple. It is very important to select music that shows who you are as a couple, your feelings. You should sort through you and your partner's music collections and find music you both enjoy (and that other's will enjoy too). If a band which can reflect these tastes.
  5. First Dance - Be sure to pick a good first dance song. For many couples it is the highlight of the wedding party. Do not let the band pick this song for you. It should be a song with special meaning to you as a couple. When searching for a band ask if they know how to play the song you have selected for your first dance and a selection of your favorite songs as a couple. The right band for you will know your favorite songs or be willing to learn some of them.
Music will set the whole theme of the wedding party. It is worth taking time to finding a professional wedding band who knows how to set the mood and provide the atmosphere you desire. Consider the tips above before selecting a wedding band.

Rockabilly Guitarists Love That Hollow-Body Sound

Over the years a lot of different types of electric guitar have hit the market. And various rockabilly guitarists have probably used just about every type there is. But one type of guitar has risen to iconic stature in the rockabilly world: the hollow-body guitar. And to narrow things down even more, the Gretsch guitar company has really ruled rockabilly since the early days with their 6120 and other models. So, what is this "hollow-body" business all about?
In a basic sense, all electric guitars create their sound in the same way. Just like any guitar, the vibration of a guitar string produces a tone. The thickness of the string combines with the length of the string to emit a particular tone, or note, when the string vibrates as a result (usually) of being plucked or strummed. When a guitar player says, "I'm going to tune my guitar," he simply means, "I'm going to turn this tuning knob and thus change the length of the string until it sounds the perfect pitch for the note it should represent."
Once the guitar is in tune, the guitarist changes the pitch of the note the string plays by pressing down on the string and in effect making it shorter. The shorter the string the higher the note it plays when plucked. So, to play a melody, the guitarist is constantly changing the length of the string in an organized manner.
All guitars work this way. But not all guitars sound the same--even when playing the same note--because there are many other factors that go into giving a particular guitar its sound characteristics. One of those characteristics is the way that the sound resonates through the wood (or other materials) of the guitar itself. And the density of the instrument matters.
So, an acoustic guitar makes its sound by having a hollow body and (typically) a large round hole under the strings. The sound from the strings resonates through the air inside the body of the guitar and bounces off the wooden inside to come back out the hole. This process effectively amplifies the sound of the string and you hear it as sounding like an acoustic guitar.
Electric guitars work basically the same way, but with a twist. Electric guitars have coils of wire under the strings. These coils create a magnet when electricity is run through them. When the metal strings are plucked, these magnets (called pickups) carry the impulse through the guitar cable and out to an amplifier. Of course then, the pickups and the amplifier have great influence on what the electric guitar sounds like.
But there's more to it than that. Just because an electric guitar uses pickups and an amplifier to make the sound, doesn't mean that all of the other things we talked about don't matter. The sound still resonates through the wood and air of the guitar.
Now, generally there are two types of electric guitar: solid-body and hollow-body (there are also semihollow-body guitars, but we'll leave those out of the discussion for now) and the two types of guitar sound very different. Since there is more air inside a hollow-body guitar (like an acoustic), the sound of the strings bounces around inside the body a lot more than in a solid-body. This changes the character of the sound.
These hollow-body guitars were used by many of the very early rockabilly players in large part because that's what the country guitarists that influenced them were playing. Many of them started out as country guitarists. Hollow-body Gretsches and Gibsons were their instruments of choice, although of course there were guitars made by other manufacturers as well.
The hollow-body sound gives those early Elvis recordings their distinctive sound as Elvis' guitarist, Scotty Moore, played hollow-body Gibson guitars on them. But it is Eddie Cochran who has probably influenced modern rockabilly guitarists the most with his iconic orange Gretsch 6120 model guitar. It's definitely the guitar of choice for many (if not most) modern rockabilly players. Stray Cat Brian Setzer cemented the guitar's hold on rockabilly when he hit the scene with the same model guitar during the rockabilly revival years of the late 70s and early 80s.
None of this is to say that the solid-body guitar has no place in rockabilly. The Fender Telecaster is a solid-body instrument that sees a lot of stage time in rockabilly. James Burton, who took over for Scotty Moore as Elvis' guitarist after a few years, is a master of the Telecaster. Carl Perkins played a variety of both solid- and hollow-body guitars. Many other players did too. But it's the hollow-body guitar that has come to mean rockabilly. It gives the music that distinctive hollow-body sound. You might not be able to put your finger exactly on that sound, but it's there. And now you know a little bit about how it's produced.
