Electric Slide Dance

It was said that on 1976, American choreographer - Ric Silver - was the one who created the Electric Slide Dance. This dance became quite popular among family reunions and wedding gatherings. This 4-wall-line dance have become widely-known in many countries around the globe. This article will give you some information about the brief history and controversies surrounding the popular Electric Slide Dance.
However, this dance didn't just capture international attention due to its popularity in social gatherings but also due to the controversies arising from the copyright infringement issues raised by Ric Silver.
The Electric Slide dance was said to have been popularized long before Silver claimed he created it. Around the 50's, many people have already enjoyed these unique dance steps and have performed it on several occasions other than weddings. This is the reason why Ric Silver's claims to have created it in 1976 were deemed absurd by many dance enthusiasts and dance organizations.
It was in the year 2007 that Silver began sending notices to YouTube users, telling them to remove their videos featuring the Electric dance unless they credit Silver as its original choreographer. These notices were sent either as comments to the videos or comments to the channels of the YouTube users. In fact, these notices are still being posted by Silver until today for those videos that show the electric dance in a way he deemed inappropriate. This also happens if full credits for Ric Silver were not stated in the video's descriptions.
In March 2007, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, an international organization that deals with issues related to digital media and its users, filed a lawsuit against Silver for showing blatant disrespect of the people's rights to free speech. The EFF's "battle" against Silver run for about 2 months before official reconciliation was made around May of the same year. The two parties have agreed that Mr. Silver will have to license his dance under Creative Commons while the Electronic Frontier Foundation must make sure that videos containing anything related to the electric dance must properly credit its choreographer.
Ric Silver's original electric dance has about twenty-two steps in it. Silver also suggested a couple of new variations from time to time but nothing completely complicated. However, if you look at different online sites you'll find simplified versions from the original steps. Some sites also provide instructions about the basics which many may find a lot easier than the original twenty-two steps.

Wedding Bands - 5 Tips You Must Follow

Music is one of the most important wedding party decisions you will make. Music can make or break a wedding reception. A lot of thought should be paid to choosing your wedding band. It is not something to be rushed. Your wedding will be your most happy day. You want your family and friends to enjoy the day as well, so care should be taken to ensure the band you select is the right match for the wedding you are planning. Here are my tips for picking the perfect band for your wedding:

1. Cultural or Religious Requirements - Do you or your partner have any cultural or religious needs regarding the wedding party or ceremony? Are you having a ceremony which reflects your cultural background? The band should play music which matches this. A traditional Hindu wedding should have Hindi music.
2. Theme- Think about the style of wedding you want. Do you have a theme? If there is a medieval theme or a 60s theme then the music should match. If you want a formal wedding then a rock cover band will not be a good fit. Do you want people to dance? If you imagined a square dance then ensure you source a band who knows how to call one.
3. Venue - Some venues may not be equipped with the appropriate sound system or space to accommodate every band. When you decide on a venue you need to assess which options are available. Some venues may also be subject to licensing and noise restrictions. There would be no point hiring a live band to play at a venue which cannot have live music at night.
4. Taste - The music you choose should reflect your personal taste and set the atmosphere. It should say who you are as a couple. It is very important to select music that shows who you are as a couple, your feelings. You should sort through you and your partner's music collections and find music you both enjoy (and that other's will enjoy too). If a band which can reflect these tastes.
5. First Dance - Be sure to pick a good first dance song. For many couples it is the highlight of the wedding party. Do not let the band pick this song for you. It should be a song with special meaning to you as a couple. When searching for a band ask if they know how to play the song you have selected for your first dance and a selection of your favorite songs as a couple. The right band for you will know your favorite songs or be willing to learn some of them.

Music will set the whole theme of the wedding party. It is worth taking time to finding a professional wedding band who knows how to set the mood and provide the atmosphere you desire. Consider the tips above before selecting a wedding band.

What Everyone Ought To Know About Guitar Pedal Boards

The Big Mistake
Do you use guitar effects pedals? If you do, then you will probably use some kind of guitar pedal board, but did you know that using the wrong guitar pedal board could be damaging your pedals and preventing you from performing to your best, without you even knowing? You see the biggest problem today is that people spend so much time finding the right effects pedals for their sound, that they spend little or no time thinking about their guitar effects board.
The problem is that although guitarists use effects boards, the majority of them buy the wrong type of case which leads to problems and more money later on. The biggest problem is that guitarists are not aware of what they should be looking for in a guitar pedal board case.
Believe it or not there are loads of different requirements to consider before you can start looking to buy one. The trap most people fall into is that they start browsing the internet not really knowing what they are looking for and then end up buying the wrong case for their pedals.
The Easy Solution
Unbelievably, you do not have to spend hours analyzing each effects board available to you, all you have to do is use this solution before you start looking so that you have a clear idea of what you are looking for. By asking your self these questions you will save yourself time, money and avoid the common mistakes people make. Identify what you need by determining the size you need, how many effects pedals do you have? Do you need a soft case or a hard case? what is your budget? Do you need a power supply?
It amazes me why guitarists will spend hundreds of dollars on effects pedals and then spend little or no time looking at guitar pedal boards. It doesn't make sense! If your spending that much, then it is only common sense that you should protect them to keep them in good condition, isn't it? By taking these points (size, weight, budget, accessories etc.) into consideration you will be able save yourself time hassle and money by avoiding the common mistakes made.
However, remember do not rush into buying a guitar pedal board, take your time and have a clear idea of what you want before you start looking for one. Think like you were buying a new Gibson or Fender Stratocaster, you wouldn't rush into buying one of them without thinking about it!
